Western Washington Clean Cities

Western Washington Clean Cities Coalition is a designated coalition under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities initiative. The Clean Cities Coalition advances the region's environmental and public health, energy security, and economic development by promoting policies and practices that reduce petroleum consumption in transportation. Western Washington Clean Cities partners with Diesel Solutions to assist Puget Sound fleets in adopting technologies and practices that reduce petroleum use.

Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy

In 2007, the ports of Seattle, Tacoma, and Vancouver, BC joined together to develop a joint strategy for reducing maritime and port-related air pollution in the Pacific Northwest. This culminated in the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy, which sets forth performance measures for the ports to achieve by 2015. Each year the partners publish an update on their progress toward these goals.

West Coast Collaborative

The West Coast Collaborative is a public-private partnership between leaders from federal, state, and local government, the private sector, and environmental groups committed to reducing diesel emissions along the West Coast, from Canada to Mexico. The goal of the Collaborative is to leverage significant federal funds to reduce emissions from the most polluting diesel sources in the most affected communities.

Puget Sound Maritime Air Forum

Puget Sound Maritime Air Forum Logo

The Puget Sound Maritime Air Forum is a voluntary association of private and public maritime organizations, clean air agencies, and other parties with operational or regulatory responsibilities related to air quality impacts from the maritime industry. Beginning in 2007, the agency worked with forum members to develop a Maritime Air Emissions Inventory of maritime-related diesel equipment operating within the greater Puget Sound region. This inventory was updated in 2011.
