If you love the smell of French fries, then biodiesel is the fuel for you.
Biodiesel is a liquid, renewable fuel that can be made from a variety of sources, such as vegetable oils, animal fats and even recycled restaurant grease. Chemically-similar to petroleum diesel, biodiesel can be used in nearly any diesel engine and is typically blended with regular diesel fuel. But biodiesel burns much more cleanly, making a direct impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. At least two biodiesel producers operate in Washington State, including the second-largest plant in the nation, located in Grays Harbor. Just these two plants produce over 100 million gallons of biodiesel per year. Various blends of biodiesel are available at seven fueling stations throughout Washington.
