The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency is providing public notice for a proposed permit for Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park to replace a cremation unit. 

An American Crematory Equipment Co, Model A-250 will be replacing one Power Pak II cremator which is permitted under a previous Order of Approval from the Agency.  The previous Order of Approval will be cancelled and superseded upon installing the new crematory unit.  The new unit will be permitted to process 5 cases or 1,000 pounds per day.  The new unit will emit approximately 1 ton per year of particulate matter, and less than 1 ton per year of all other criteria pollutants.

PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION

The Agency has completed a review of application No. 12349. Based on this review, the Agency has made a preliminary determination that the proposal meets all the requirements of Regulations I, II, and III, and draft Order No. 12349 should be approved.

The information considered in making this preliminary determination is on file and available for inspection at the Agency’s office located at 1904 Third Avenue, Suite 105, Seattle, Washington, telephone (206) 343-8800. Written comments with respect to the proposed Order and Determination of Nonsignificance must be mailed to Carl Slimp, Engineer, at Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, 1904 Third Avenue, Suite 105, Seattle, Washington 98101, faxed to the Engineering Manager at (206) 343-7522, or e-mailed to CarlS@pscleanair.gov within 30 days of the publication date of this notice. Any person or entity may request a public hearing within the comment period provided that any such request shall state the person’s or entity’s interest in filing it and why a hearing is warranted.

All comments received during the comment period will become part of the public record. Once the Agency has reviewed and responded to comments from the public, the proposed Order of Approval will, if necessary, be revised and either denied or issued in final form.
