At the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, we are steadfast in our commitment to the principles of equity diversity, and inclusion, integrating them into every facet of our work. Our goal is to embed these principles in our routines, relationships, and outcomes. We strive to:
- Understand our role in acknowledging, addressing, and minimizing disproportionate environmental burdens to communities of color and low-income communities; and
- Consider ways in which our practices can be more inclusive of all races, ages, genders and abilities;
- Extend employment opportunities to a diverse range of audiences;
- Proactively combat bias and foster anti-racist and inclusive practices
- Invest in internal equity and inclusion education for staff and building capacity so that staff can apply equity principles in day-to-day work;
This is an on-going and iterative process and we are committed to continuing this work. By deepening our understanding and application of equity principles in our workplace, we will more effectively accomplish the Agency’s mission to preserve, protect, and enhance air quality and public health, enforce the Clean Air Act, support policies that reduce climate change, and partner with communities to do this work equitably.
