This facility consists of the composite manufacturing center (CMC) and skin and spar. The CMC fabricates and assembles composite structures for Boeing commercial airplanes. Skin and spar fabricates most of the major components of the aluminum wing structures for all Boeing commercial airplanes. Operations at the facility include machining, part assembly, coating application, solvent cleaning, and facility and equipment maintenance and support activities. Facility operations result in releases of volatile organic compounds, hazardous air pollutants, oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter.
The draft Air Operating Permit is a renewal of the current Boeing Commercial Airplane Group - Frederickson that is already in force. Air Operating Permits expire every five years and needs to be renewed. This renewal incorporates all the new compliance requirements that have come into effect for Boeing Commercial Airplane Group - Frederickson since the previous permit was issued.
