King County Solid Waste Division, Cedar Hills Regional Landfill
16645 228th Ave SE
Maple Valley, WA 98038

Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (the Agency) is seeking comments on draft Air Operating Permit (Permit No. 10138) for the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill, located at 16645 228th Ave SE, Maple Valley, WA 98038. This facility is an engineered facility that is specifically constructed for the purpose of safely and permanently disposing of municipal solid waste. The sources of air emissions at the landfill are: the landfill gas combustion emissions from the flares, fugitive landfill gas, and fugitive particulate matter from vehicle travel on unpaved and paved roads. Facility operations result in releases of volatile organic compounds, hazardous air pollutants, oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter.

The draft Air Operating Permit is a renewal of the current Title V Air Operating Permit that is already in force. Air Operating Permits expire every five years and need to be renewed. This renewal incorporates all the new compliance requirements that have come into effect for Cedar Hills Regional Landfill since the previous permit was issued.

Copies of the draft Air Operating Permit and supporting materials are available for review below:
